Joel Choi Presents: FYI
How it all started:
This was the original pitch I made for my piece. The classical song ended up being “Concerto in A Minor” by Antonio Vivaldi and the hip hop piece was “I’ll Find You” by Lecrae and Tori Kelly. I found myself doing even more research than I initially intended and I had more fresh ideas popped into my mind after my initial first pitch.

My Rehearsal Journal
I kept a journal of all my rehearsals and tracked the path through this entire project. I had moments of joy and frustration, times when I was grinning from ear to ear and when I said: “Nah…this isn’t working”. Pieces like this don’t come in a day and this journal is a testament of that.

Artist Statement: Faith, Fun, Flair
Everyone has their own reasons to why they dance, and that’s what makes all artists so unique. The purpose defines the process and what they gain from the experience. This is why I dance.
